OFAC Enforcement Action

An OFAC enforcement action is a formal resolution of a sanctions violation investigation. It ranges from a cautionary letter (no penalty, just a warning) to a civil penalty (monetary fine) to a criminal referral (DOJ prosecution). Most enforcement actions are civil settlements.
