Sanctions Screening Methods
The three screening methods, explained.
Overview
Screening is not one method - it is three surfaces with different mechanics, run together on every check.
Exact matching (wallets)
Addresses match byte-for-byte. Deterministic: a wallet either is or is not on the list. No false positives - the ambiguity lives elsewhere.
Fuzzy matching (names)
19,218 SDN names screened with fuzzy logic: aliases, transliteration, partials. Designed for recall - false positives go to review, not straight through.
Jurisdiction screening
16 comprehensively embargoed jurisdictions checked independently of wallet and name. Geography is a third surface, not an afterthought.
The combined call
One sanctions_check runs all three surfaces in under 100 ms and returns the matched entry with the list version - the audit-ready result.
