What is OFAC?

Also known as: Office of Foreign Assets Control

OFAC (the Office of Foreign Assets Control) is the U.S. Treasury agency that administers and enforces economic and trade sanctions against targeted countries, regimes, terrorists, narcotics traffickers, and other persons. It publishes the sanctions lists that U.S. persons must screen against and can impose civil penalties for violations.

Screening for OFAC-related risk is exactly what SanctionsAI automates — a single API (HTTP, CLI, or MCP) that screens names and wallets against OFAC lists before your agent pays. Free tier, no key: see the docs →
